We want to win football games. We want to compete for championships. We want to establish a standard of excellence that makes our players, coaches, school, and community proud.
But winning as a program means more than what happens on Friday nights.
We want to win in the classroom, in the weight room, through our relationships, in our personal development, and ultimately in life. Every day provides another opportunity to improve, compete, and become better.
Our program is built around five goals. Each one contributes to our overall success, and each one gives us a way to evaluate whether we are living up to our standards.
Competitive Excellence
Our expectation is to build a program that consistently competes for championships. We will prepare with purpose, develop a strong foundation of fundamentals, play with discipline and toughness, and hold ourselves accountable to a standard of excellence. We want to be a team that is prepared, physical, fundamentally sound, and capable of winning against the best competition.
How We Measure Success
Compete for district and state championships.
Evaluate execution, discipline, and consistency.
Develop players who understand their roles and responsibilities.
Measure performance through preparation, improvement, and results.
Academic Achievement
We are educators first. Our student-athletes will understand that their responsibilities in the classroom are just as important as their responsibilities on the field. We will emphasize attendance, academic effort, eligibility, communication with teachers, and preparation for opportunities beyond high school.
How We Measure Success
Maintain academic eligibility and improve academic performance.
Monitor attendance, grades, and classroom progress.
Develop positive relationships with teachers and campus staff.
Prepare student-athletes for graduation and life after high school.
Individual Player Development
Every athlete deserves an opportunity to improve. Our responsibility is to help each player reach his potential physically, mentally, academically, and athletically. Through intentional coaching, strength and conditioning, position-specific instruction, and individual relationships, we will create an environment where improvement is expected and development is personal.
How We Measure Success
Track individual strength, speed, and athletic development.
Evaluate position-specific skills and football fundamentals.
Establish individual improvement goals.
Develop players who are prepared for increased responsibility and leadership.
Character & Leadership
We want to develop young people who demonstrate integrity, accountability, respect, discipline, and perseverance. Our players must understand that their actions represent more than themselves. They represent their teammates, families, school, and community. We will teach our players to take responsibility, respond positively to adversity, and make the people around them better.
How We Measure Success
Demonstrate accountability and personal responsibility.
Recognize and develop student-athlete leadership.
Evaluate daily effort, attitude, discipline, and behavior.
Represent the program positively on and off the field.
Program & Community Pride
A successful program is built through relationships. We want to create an environment where players, coaches, families, teachers, administrators, alumni, and community members share pride in the program. We will invest in those relationships, support youth athletics, and understand that the success of a football program should positively impact the entire school district.
How We Measure Success
Build strong relationships with families and community members.
Establish connections with youth and junior high programs.
Encourage alumni involvement and community support.
Participate in service opportunities and represent our school with pride.
The scoreboard will eventually stop. The season will end, and football will become a memory. The habits, discipline, relationships, and character we build will last much longer.
Our ultimate goal is to develop young people who know how to work, lead, handle adversity, take responsibility, and make the people around them better.
